O
ur story, as an American family, begins with the marriage of Peter Ruffner and Mary Steinman in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in 1739. This union would lead to a family, which included eight children - the first Ruffners of our family born on this continent. Each of them was born at their parent’s Hawksbill Patent homestead in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. These children began their lives as British subjects, but most would live to see the formation of the United States of America and be highly productive citizens of this new nation of states.Topic Pages: ~ Click on the Topic to go to the subject page.
